Born September 20th, 1939 to Betty Stewart Spriggs and Elmo Spriggs in Springfield, Ohio. Karen grew up in Enon, Ohio with younger sisters Dail and Tanis in a loving home of strong faith where education, the arts and kindness to others were highly valued. She graduated valedictorian from Greenon High School ('57) and pursued psychology by earning her Bachelor's degree at Wittenberg University ('60) and Master's degree at Ohio University ('62). In 1962, Karen married the love of her life, Larry Snaufer. The couple moved to California for Larry's service in the Air Force. She worked as a social worker until becoming a mother to her first-born, Mark. The young family moved to Beaumont, Texas where Kimberly and Kendra were born. While raising a family, she was active in the community and church. In 1983, they settled in Kingwood, Texas where Karen taught psychology at Kingwood College and owned a successful private practice as a Psychologist/Psychotherapist for 30+ years. Her dedication to helping others, her kindness, compassion and guidance touched countless lives. She was loving, elegant, witty, fun and full of grace and strength.
