Theresa Dohanich Obituary
In 1957, Theresa married Mike Dohanich from Binghamton, NY, and together they raised five daughters. Mike's job at IBM provided an opportunity to live in many places including Binghamton, NY, Mays Landing, NJ, Longmont, CO, Clear Lake City Houston, TX, before retiring in Shasta Lake, CA. Theresa was an excellent homemaker and kept each home immaculate. Once her daughters were raised, Theresa enjoyed being an in-home caregiver to infant babies in Clear Lake City, Houston. Theresa loved working in her garden, baking scones for neighbors and asking about her great grandbabies.
Theresa is survived by her five daughters Jean Varsos, Theresa Grolig (and Miguel Avitia, Sr.), Jo Ann Barnett (and her husband Lee), Michaelyn Dunaway (and her husband Marty), Sandy Asterby (and her husband Bob). She is also survived by one sister, Margie Vitali of Clarks Summit, PA, nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Services were held at 9:30 am on Friday, January 14, 2022 at the Northern California Veterans Cemetery in Igo, California. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
