Jay Robertson Obituary

ROBERTSON,
JAY DOUGLAS, 60
Ocala - Jay Douglas Robertson, age 60, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Ocala, Florida, on September 24, 2017. Jay was born on October 17, 1956, in Buffalo, NY, to James Donald Robertson, Sr., and Arlene E. Robertson. From an early age, he was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and above all else the beach.
Jay also had a passion for riding motorcycles, one that continued throughout his life. He further cultivated his love for the outdoors while traveling the country working as a skilled glazier. His work included installing many of the gleaming windows seen today on the majestic President's Circle Building in Hollywood, Florida. Although Jay had many hobbies and interests, he was most proud of being a father to his only child, Kelly (Robertson) Johnson. He was a fixture on Hollywood Beach, and would often take Kelly with him to spend the day. Kelly was the light of his life and brought him immense joy over the years. Jay Douglas Robertson will be truly missed by his family and friends, and they all join in thanking God for the sweet memories they shared with Jay and now cherish forever.
Jay is survived by his loving siblings, Darlene Robertson, Donna (Robertson) Furce, James Donald Robertson, Jr., Diane (Robertson) Remington, Denise (Robertson) Chambul, and John Robertson, along with all of their spouses and partners; his loving daughter, Kelly (Robertson) Johnson; and many other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents, James Donald Robertson, Sr., and Arlene E. Robertson.
A memorial service celebrating Jay's life will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017, from 11am until 3pm, at the Rolling Hills Clubhouse located at 1415 West Gleneagle Road, Ocala, Florida, 34472. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jay's memory to the American Diabetes Association to help find a cure for the disease that he personally battled for the majority of his adult life.

Jay may you rest in peace. Jay was a good friend to so many! He could be counted on and depended on always. If all you wanted was to pass the time, or a pool hall buddy - he was your guy; ready, steadfast, willing and good fun. You will be truly missed by all of your family and friends.
