Catherine DiFeo Obituary
Catherine DiFeo passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at the age of 88.
She was born on March 3, 1929 to Pasquale and Nellie Pedone, the oldest of four children.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Michael Pedone.
Catherine attended St. Vincent Grade School and High School, graduating in 1947. She then went on to graduate from Hammel Actual Business College and was employed by McNeil Machine and Engineering Co.
She married Alfonso DiFeo on April 29, 1950 and together raised seven children. She worked at DiFeo and Sons Poultry for many years with her family.
Catherine leaves behind her husband of 67 years, Al; her children, Mark (Adrienne), Joseph, James (Kathy), Robert (Susan), John, Lisa (Robert) Joyce, Edward (Tabitha); her sisters, Antoinette Mellini of Marion, Ohio, Theresa (Jim) Haines and Sr. Sandy Pedone of Youngstown, Ohio; 24 grandchildren and four great grandchildren, many other nieces and nephews.
We had many wonderful meals prepared by her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Catherine was very devoted to the Rosary, daily Mass and her family.
We want to thank Summa at Home Hospice for their wonderful care. In a special way we thank Joe DiFeo for his incredible care for our Mother for the last year and a half.
Visitation will be held at Ciriello & Carr Funeral Home, 39 S. Miller Rd., Fairlawn 44333 on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m., with Rosary at 5:45. Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 1580 Brown St., Akron, OH 44301, where friends may also call 10 to 11 a.m. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Dear Uncle Al and cousins Mark, Joe, Jimmy, Bobby, John, Lisa and Eddie. Sorry to hear that Aunt Catherine has passed away. She was a gentle, patient lady who was very generous with her time and attention to family and the church. She worked hard at the chicken store and knew all there was to know about cooking poultry. Thankfully, she's passed on her expertise to her children and the rest of the family. She'll be sadly missed. With sympathy,

My Dearest Family on the Haines DiFeo and Pedone side..
My heart goes out to all of you in the most sincere and heartfelt way. I remember Catherine so fondly..
I was an outsider and dating and eventually marrying Anne... of course... ALWAYS... under the watchful eyes of all of her 3 brothers and 7 brutal cousins...
Catherine always made me feel part of the family, and how I soooo loved those Sunday dinners !!! all of the kids running around ... the smell of garlic and tomato sauce and fresh bread from the kitchen... I get tears in those thoughts.. I remember Grandma Pedone telling me to get the hell out of the kitchen during preparation, however I was always graciously welcomed when it was time to do dishes..... I'll always remember the holiday BBQ's at the house in Firestone Park, and all of the laughs and as always the food !!!
