Emma Roberts Obituary

Emma A. Roberts

On Jan. 18, 2004, the Lord called home one of his angels, Emma A. Roberts.

She was born on Oct. 11, 1938, to Geneva and Timothy Lewis in Alabama, and had been a member of this community for 51 years. She worked for Akron Metropolitan Housing Au thority as a management aide for 30 years, last working in September 2003. She was a faithful member of St. Ashworth's Temple and a member of YWCC, and belonged to local union AFSCME. She was the owner of Lewis Brothers Funeral Home.

Preceded in death by her parents, Timothy and Geneva Lewis; stepmother, Eleanor Lewis of Selma, Ala.; uncle, Edward Lewis of Selma, Ala.; aunt, Naomi Brown; brothers, Timothy, Everett Lewis, Emma is survived by her husband, John, who sat by her and held her hand on this side until the Lord called her to cross over; she also leaves, to cherish her memories, sons, Donald (She lia) Robinson, Edward Robin son; daughter, Sharon Robin son; also, Carolyn, James, and Ronald Roberts; sister-in-law, Myrtle Lewis, special friends, Barbara Bradshaw, Eula (Eddie) Powers, Jean Hinkson; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Friday at St. Ashworth's Temple, Elder L.C. Walker officiating and Elder A.C. Walker eulogizing. Interment at Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 990 Russell Ave.
