Frances ``Jeanie" Dunham went to her rest on Monday, August 14, 2006, at her home in Wadsworth, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Columbus, Ohio on September 13, 1918, she was the only daughter of Walter and Sophia (Novak) Danec. She graduated from East Columbus High School and worked for David Davies Meat Packing Company as a comptometer operator and bookkeeper until her marriage to Dick R. Dunham on December 17, 1941.
Throughout 62 years of marriage she was a dedicated and inspiring wife and mother of seven children. Frequent family moves enabled her to make many friendships throughout the country which she nurtured through faithful correspondence over decades. She enjoyed devoting much time and attention to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Since 1964, she had been a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Wadsworth where she was active in Altar and Rosary Society, Legion of Mary, Parish Choir and a Eucharistic Minister in nursing homes. She was recognized as a wonderful role model by all who knew her. She was also very involved with The Society for Handicapped Citizens of Medina County and provided empathetic support to many other parents of disabled children.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dick; her parents; her brothers, Joseph, Walter, Richard; and her daughter, Kristine. She is survived by her brother, Robert of Pickerington, Ohio.
Her life is honored and celebrated by her children, Sharon Dunham and Linda (James Venner) of Wadsworth, Jeanne (Carl Susong) of Texas, Mary Dunham (William Hasselberger) of Virginia, Laure (Randy Nicklaus) of California and Dennis (Terry) of Minnesota; and by grandchildren, Sharon Venner Orr, Rachael Venner Byars, Allison Venner Shay, Jason Venner, and Joshua, Carrie, and Daniel Susong, Asa Wesenberg, William, John and Christian Hasselberger, and Marc Dunham, and five great-grandchildren.
The family thanks Dr. Michael Bianco, Stephanie Melton, Chris Titus and the nurses of Hospice of Wadsworth-Rittman for their devoted and compassionate care of their mother.
The family will receive friends Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday at Hilliard-Mullaney-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth, where the rosary will be recited Thursday at 8:30 p.m. Prayer services Friday, 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rev. Joseph L. Labak officiating. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery. Contributions in Frances' name may be made to The Society for Handicapped Citizens of Medina County or Hospice of Wadsworth-Rittman.

To all the Dunham family, my sincere sympathy on the passing of dear Jeanie. I was a back-door neighbor of the family when my family and I lived on Dohner Drive. Looking forward to meeting her and Dick again one day.
