Frank Aquila Obituary

Dr. Frank D. Aquila, age 67, passed away June 10th, 2010.

Dr. Aquila was a professor of Graduate Education at Cleveland State University, a lawyer, and an author who published hundreds of papers and numerous books on school law and civil rights in education. He was an Emerald Life master in bridge, his great passion.

He was the beloved father of Frank D. Aquila Jr.; proud grandfather of Frank D. Aquila III and Zachary R. Aquila.; brother to the late Jean Granieri; uncle to Dr. Janice Granieri (Jeff), Vince Granieri (Irene); great-uncle to four.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 20th, 3 p.m. at Executive Caterers at Landerhaven, 6111 Landerhaven Dr., Mayfield Hts., OH 44124. Donations may be made to the Cleveland State University Foundation for the Dr. Frank Aquila Endowed Scholarship, 2121 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44115.

Dr. Aquila thank you for a wonderful collective bargaining class during Fall 2009 at Cleveland State. You were an inspiration for all graduate students that were excelling to becoming school administrators.

To the Aquila family: May God bless you and keep you in the hollow of his hand during your time of loss and bereavement. Dr. Aquila was my mentor and counselor while at CSU. His help and encouragement made a huge impact in my career. He will truly be missed.

I lost my Dad when he was 60 and I never expected it.You lose a piece of your heart when your Dad passes.You must be proud of all his accomplishments.Carry on the family traditions and you are all in my prayers.God Bless.
