Freda Jacobs Obituary
She resided in Manchester, Ohio for the past 31 years and spent her life making a difference in other people's lives at Akron City Hospital, where she loved her work as a nurse for the past 36 years. Everyone will always remember Grandma's cookies at Christmas time. Somehow she made the best cookies in the world.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Cindy L. (Rob) Jacobs, Jean A. Jacobs, John D. (Diana) Jacobs. She also leaves behind 13 grandchildren including Jennifer Jacobs, whom she raised, and 12 great-grandchildren. She also leaves two sisters, Shirley McHenry and Dean (Bob) Burkhart, and her brother, Otto ``Butch' (Rita) Gearhart; and her close childhood friend of 61 years, Cathy Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Otto Gearhart; and two brothers, Bill and Gene Hailey.
As we continue on with our lives, she will be remembered in our thoughts and prayers and held so close to our hearts. We look forward to the day we are reunited in heaven.
Funeral Service FRIDAY, 3 p.m. at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry St. (Rt. 93, Canal Fulton), with Rev. Gene Kraus officiating. Friends may call THURSDAY, 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Final resting place at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Akron. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation, 1889 Indians Hills Trail, Akron, OH 44313. www.swigarteasterlingfuneralhome.com

So sorry to hear of the passing of your Mother. She was a grade school friend of mine. Also, when you kids were little your mom had a card club and I would come to your house in Akron and play cards with several other young mothers. I wish we had been in touch in later years. I so remember your Mothers smile and her laugh.

John David, Danielle and Freda's Family - I always enjoyed Freda anytime I was around her. She was such a nice person, and always made anyone feel right at home. She also had fun candle parties!!! She was truly a special lady, and I know she will be sorely missed. My heartfelt condolences to you all, and I pray God will comfort you at this sad time.

I am so sorry for your loss. You were a great light in your grandmothers life. Everytime she spoke about you, she had a special gleam in her eye. She always knew that she could count on you to lend her a helping hand when needed and truly enjoyed your company. She trusted you like no other, and deservingly so. I know that she also really enjoyed spending time with your little boy. Please know that she is in a better place now. My condolences go out to you during this difficult time.

John David and Danielle so sorry for your loss. I am so glad I got to spend time with all of you over Easter. John you need to remember how close you where with your Grandma. You and your cousin David where always there for her when others where not. You know deep in your heart how special David and you where to her. She could depend on you two for anything and everything she needed. John David you have a heart of gold don't you ever forget that.
