Jerome Hodson Obituary

Jerome "Jerry" Hodson

Jerome "Jerry" Hodson, 72, of Cuyahoga Falls went home to be with his Lord May 20th. Born in Akron, Jerry raised his family in Cuyahoga Falls and was a member of St Joseph's church. He graduated North high school then managed Isaly's on Temple Square before going to Firestone, where he built tires for 17 years. He also worked for Goodyear Aerospace then Aircraft Braking Systems until he retired. He loved to bowl and fish, and was a huge sports fan. If the Indians, Browns, Buckeyes, or Cavs were on TV he was in his chair rooting them on.

He is survived by his wife of almost 47 years and his best friend, Mary Joan; sons, Mark, Michael, Matthew (Krissy) and daughter, Tracy (Dave) Walter. He was the proud Grandpa to Josh, Evan, Ryan, Jordan, and Riley. Loyal Brother to William (Joan), Lewis, Rosemary (Earl) Rectenwald, Mary Rita Dunaway, Therese Hodson, and Sisters-in-law Dale and Monica Durbin. Also many cousins, nieces, and nephews. And of course his little friend Daisy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman & Marie Hodson and John & Mary Durbin. Also Brothers-in-law Jack, Jim, & Bill Durbin, and Bob Dunaway.

Jerry was a kind and caring man who worked his hardest to provide for his family. His hard work and life's lessons will never be forgotten. His selflessness continues though he's gone as he asked his body be donated to the Cleveland Clinic so others could learn from him.

The family would like to thank the paramedics of the Falls Fire Department for their kindness and compassion and ask in lieu of flowers that donations be made to them through the Falls Firefighters & Community Society Inc or the Alzheimer's Association.

Services will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary church in Cuyahoga Falls. The family will meet friends Saturday May 30 starting at 9 a.m, a memorial mass is scheduled at 10 a.m. with a luncheon to follow.

Sorry to read of the passing of "Jerry" my condolences to the family, death of a loved one is not natural, we expect our loved ones to live on forever, God has put that into our hearts. (Ecclesiastes 3:11) Soon he promises to do something about that.
