Lamont Wilbon Obituary

Lamont D. Wilbon (Boo), 43, of Akron, Ohio passed away on May 22, 2013 after a short battle with an illness.

A lifelong resident of Akron, Lamont attended and graduated from Ellet High School. Lamont was a man of many talents; he worked in lawn care, factory and home health care which affectionately earned him the name "Huss So Man."

Lamont was a fun-loving and lighthearted person who knew no strangers. He was very outgoing and willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Lamont had a great sense of humor and made lemonade out of the lemons in life.

Lamont was preceded in death by his grandfather, Clifton Wilbon, Jr.; his aunts, Marilyn Giddings and Rosemarie King. Recently he was preceded in death by his loving mother, Jacqueline A. Wilbon. His memory will be cherished by his beautiful grandmother, Hildred Wilbon; his adoring siblings, Lawrence (Matisa) Wilbon of Louisville, Ky. and Laverne Wilbon of Akron; he is survived by Deshawn Beatty (nephew) and Taiya Beatty (niece); he leaves to cherish in memory his special nephew, Landon Johnson, which was inseparable at times during his life. He is also survived by his impressionable aunts, Marietta (Charles) Carswell of Columbia, Md., Valerie Cannon, Julia (George) Reese, and Kimberly Wilbon Avery all of Akron; and uncle, Clifton (Evelyn) Wilbon of Youngstown, Ohio; as well as a host of cousins.

His visitation will be Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 10 a.m. followed by the funeral services at 11 a.m. at Stewart and Calhoun Funeral Home, 529 West Thornton Street, Akron, OH 44307, where Elder David Parker II of Zion Apostolic Faith Church will be officiating. A memorial fund has been set up at First Merit Bank branches for Lamont Wilbon. Condolences may be sent to 1196 Hazel Street, Akron, OH 44305.

To Lawrence, Laverne & Family,

Lamont was such a loving & kind person. We always looked forward to his visits and wonderful smile on Hamlin Street. My comfort comes from knowing that he is now in heaven with your mother, happy and at peace.

Always know that we love you both very much, and are praying for you.
