Lloye Edgell Obituary
WOOSTER -- Lloye "Buddy" Edgell, age 76, of Wooster, passed away June 23, 2014 after a brief illness.
A resident of Wooster since 1955 and longtime member of Mt. Zion Church, he was employed at Ford Garage of Wooster, Weather Seal of Orrville and was a well known country music singer for 50 years. He started singing as a child and opened many shows for some of the stars including Ferlin Husky, Ray Price, Mel Streets and many others. He enjoyed playing and singing his music at home with his son Adam. He also enjoyed sitting outside with his two sons Buzzy and Buddy and he was always close to his sister June.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Drive in Wooster. Pastor Tom Geissinger will conduct the funeral service Thursday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Church of God, 837 S. Geyers Chapel Road in Wooster. Interment will follow at Wooster Cemetery. I had the pleasure of playing in a band with Buddy. It was a joy to hear him sing, by himself and doing duets with Bonnie. He was a pro. Whenever Sally and I would come by with our too infrequent visits, he would get out his Humming Bird at my request and sing for us. Buddy and Sue became our life-long friends early on. Buddy will always be missed, but he will always be in our hearts. My God Bless Buddy and Sue, and all of their family. Here's to you Buddy - "Don't worry about me..."
