let us be brave when laughter dies
And the tears come into our troubled eyes.
lets cling to the faith and the old belief, when the skies grow grey with clouds of grief.
Lets bear the sorrow and hurt and pain
And wait till the laughter comes again.

Let's be brave when the trials come
And hearts are sad and lips are dumb.
Let's strengthen ourselves in time of test.
By whispering softly that God knows best:
lets us still believe though we cannot know,
We shall learn some time it is better so.
Let's be brave when the joy departs.
Till peace shall come to our troubled hearts.
For the tears must fall and the rain come down.
And each brow be pressed to the thorny crown.
Yet after the dark shall the sun arise,
So let's be brave when the laughter dies.

I too will miss seeing Perry sitting on his screened-in back porch, listening to the radio and watching the passing throng.

Crossing The Bar
Sunset and evening star
and one clear call for me;
And may there be no moving of the bar
When I put out to sea.

Twilight and evening bell
and after that the dark,
And may there be no sadness of farewell
When I embark.

For though from out of borne
of time and place
The flood may bear me far
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crossed the bar.
