Robert M. "Bob" Staley

RITTMAN -- Robert M. "Bob" Staley, 85, of Rittman, died Sunday, July 27, 2014, at his home following a period of declining health.

He was born September 18, 1928 in Prichard, W. Va. to the late Claude and Fannie (Ward) Staley and lived most of his life in Rittman.

Bob married Julia Boyes on June 30, 1945; they have been happily married for 69 years, she survives.

He was employed by B&W Construction for 18 years as a Machinist until his retirement in 1993. He was a charter member of the Ridgewood Baptist Church in Wadsworth and a member of the Wadsworth Masonic Lodge #385. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially family dinners on Sundays. He also enjoyed travel, attending his grandchildren's sporting events and watching Cleveland sports teams.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, is daughter, Rita White of Rittman; sons, Larry (Lynn) Staley and Ron (Cindy) Staley, both of Rittman; grandchildren, Rhonda (John) Ryan of Las Vegas, Nev., Joe (Holly) Staley of Rittman and Tom Staley of Rittman; great-grandchildren, Brandon and Shawn Woyat and Harper Staley; great-great-grandchildren, Lliyah and Aiden Woyat. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gary Staley; brother, Virgil Staley; and sisters, Eloise Copley, Maxine Trent and Frieda Patterson.

Service will be held on Friday, August 1, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Auble-Gillman Funeral Home, 360 W. Sunset Dr., Rittman, with Pastor Ron Heasley officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 31 at the funeral home. Masonic Service will take place at 7:30 p.m.
