Ronald Durst Obituary
He was raised in Stow and served in the Army as a First Lieutenant during the Korean War. He taught science in the Springfield School District, was an avid photographer, and an active member of the Chapel.
Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rue Nelle; parents, Rodney and Beatrice; brother, Richard; and grandson, Matthew. He is survived by sons, Dennis Durst and David Allen; daughters, Linda Stemple and Joyce Lewis; grandchildren, Kelly and Ryan Lewis, Erin Stemple, Abigail and Allison Durst and brother, Jack.
Private services and burial at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. No flowers please. Memorials may be made to the Deacon's Fund at the Chapel, 135 Fir Hill, Akron, OH 44304.

I met Bill at Griefshare, and only knew him a short time, but found out fast what a wonderful man he was. We will miss your smiling face Bill

Bill was a great friend and leader in our Primetime class at the Green Chapel. He was also a wonderful participant in our Griefshare class by his example of Christian love and friendship. He will be missed dearly.

To the family of a great man and wonderful teacher. I, too, was privileged to have Mr. Durst as my teacher at Schrop Jr. High. I had been told by older friends to "hope you get Mr. Durst". Little did I know how true that was. He "made me, a girl" make a motor!!! And it was one of my most memorable & rewarding projects in school. He was TOPS! You have many teachers, but few like Mr. Durst that you wish you could keep as friends throughout your life. I just lost my own father in death at age 80 so my empathy goes out to you all. A dear man you can be proud of.
