Toni Boyer Obituary
Born July 23, 1953 to the union of James G. (deceased) and Mary Jackson Boyer, Toni was a life-long resident of Akron, Ohio. She attended Summit County's MRDD Tallmadge School and Workshop and the Bath Workshop last working in 2006. During her career at Bath Workshop Toni belonged to several groups and clubs including the social club and the exercise club. Toni was a member of the Special Olympics Track and Field team. She also attended the CYO Respite Program spending many weekends at Hoban High School and Camp Christopher participating in various activies.
Toni was preceded in death by her father, James Garfield; a baby sister; grandparents; aunts, uncles, and cousins. She leaves with a lifetime of memories for mother, Mary Jackson Boyer; sisters, Tanya Boyer, Twyla Boyer and Jo Ann Harris all of Akron, Ohio; brother and sister-in-law, James and Lynne of Kansas City, Mo.; nephews, Chris, Anthony, and Kenny Boyer; and niece, Erica Boyer all of Kansas City, Mo.; aunt, Viola Jackson of Dayton, Ohio; and great aunt, Toreatha Fox of Akron, Ohio; dear friend and mentor, Sandy Sparks who watched over Toni from Bath Workshop to her last days, cousins, Nathan and Mary Gordon of Detroit, Mich.; adopted families, Sheryl Jenkins and Sandy James of Dayton, Ohio and Patricia and James Crowder of Columbus, Ohio; and many friends and relatives.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 19, 2011 at the JE SCOTT FUNERAL HOME, 1158 S. Arlington St., Akron Ohio 44306 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Father John A. Valencheck on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Saint Sebastian Church on 476 Mull Avenue in Akron Ohio. Interment will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.

Ma Boyer, Tanya, Twyla, James and family:
So sorry to hear about Toni. She has been so much fun over the years, even when she would fuss me out for not coming over often or fuss me out for coming over, and then us turning from her TV programs!! :) (back in the day when we all were lucky to have one T.V. and proud of it!!)
She was able to accomplish so much and use all that she had to make so many learned improvements.
You all should be very proud of a job well done with your infinite love, ultimate caring and persistence.
You combined these three elements over many years and you succeeded as Toni succeeded.
We all have learned a lot from your family and Toni, I am sure, never felt neglected. May God bless Mom and your family as you make this very difficult journey.
