Charles Lynn Blackburn, age 75, passed away on April 7, 2019. He was the son of T.M. Blackburn and Willie W. Blackburn. Born on June 13, 1943 in Humboldt, Tennessee. Charles met Mary Jo Catignani during their senior year of high school. They married July 9, 1961 and were together almost 57 years. Charles worked in Retail all his life. He started at age 12 putting together toys for Christmas at a 5 & 10 cents store in Humboldt and retired after 50 years as District Manager for Dollar Tree in Oklahoma City. Charles was very active in the Knights of Columbus #9901 at his church St. Andrew the Apostle in Moore, OK. Serving as Grand Knight 3 terms. Charles is preceded in death by his father, Tollie; mother, Willie; brothers, Glenn and Bill; and sister, Mozelle. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo; children: son Michael (Toney) and wife Kelly of Amarillo, TX; daughter, Beth Wallar and her husband Robert of Oklahoma City; and son, Chris of Oklahoma City; grandsons, Pierce Wallar and wife Molly of Ft. Lewis, WA, and Tate Wallar of Tulsa, OK; sister, Sue Ingalls of Portland Oregon; sisters-in-law, Maynor Blackburn of Memphis, TN and Nell Blackburn of Jackson, TN. Charles is survived by a large family in Tennessee who will miss him at all the family reunions. His family would like to thank the staff and doctors at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital North, and Physicians Choice Hospice for their care. A Celebration of his Life will be Friday, April 12th, at 2PM at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel, with Father Jack Feehily officiating.
