Oh, Jerry! I will miss you! So funny, so pretty, such a delight to be around. You brightened my day each time you came through the doors at Chicos. We had some knee slapping times together.
Goodbye dear one. See you on the other side.
Love,
Kathi Trent

I don't know if I can put in to words how much Jerry meant as a friend to me. I always loved hearing her stories and her friendship when we were young and Max and Terry and Fred were coaching together. Watching Cindy, Brent and Brad grow up then have families of their own Jerry was so proud of her grand children loved to tell me stories about their lives. My only regret is that we had not kept up that friendship as our lives had different paths the past few years. My love for each of you will never end and my heart still breaks for Jerry as she was such a special person to so many. Much love Cindy, Brent and Brad and families. Gayle Fischer

Jerry was obviously a beloved teacher and friend. The excellent way she raised her children, and they in turn raised their children, is a great legacy. She was kind and fun and I enjoyed the times I spent with her. My sympathy to all of the Marquardt family.

I am so sad to hear of Jerry's passing and am filled with regret for not getting in touch with her. To me, she will always be "Mrs Marquardt", my 3rd grade teacher at Cleveland Elementary school. And in my mind, she is forever young. She was, hands down, my favorite teacher. I remember thinking how lucky I was to have the prettiest and nicest teacher. She always made me feel so special and so loved. She made school FUN! Unfortunately, so many of my teachers in the early 70s should not have been teaching. They were hard and many times very unkind; but not Mrs Marquardt. I remember her smiling and as a ray of sunshine. What a very special lady. She will be deeply missed.

Dear Marquardt Family,
I was privileged to be in your mother's 3rd grade class in Cleveland Elementary. Her love for me and for teaching us has blessed me throughout my life. Third grade continues to be on of my favorite grades because of your mother's dedication to us and to sharing Jesus' unconditional love to us daily. I grew up and became an elementary teacher as well. She has been a roll model. When we my family moved in fourth grade, I realized we were moped distance from your home, and I would rode my moped over to your house to visit your mom. :) She welcomed me as if she expected me. Her graciousness was always abundant. I also loved it that later in life, when I went to go have coffee with my Grandpa, Odies Primrose, your mom would be there happily serving, shining her love to all the community in that coffee shop. She is an example of how one who loves is doing ministry wherever they are. I will not ever forget your mom, and I am so excited our Lord is God of the living (Matthew 22:32).
Thank you for sharing her with us as you grew up!
Much love and Jesus's peace and comfort to you as you mourn her absence.

Jerry was a dear friend that I only had the luxury of knowing for the past 6 years. I always enjoyed the time visiting with her and will miss her from now on. I am glad she is no longer in pain.

We, at Ad Specialties & More, were so sad when Nizam let us know about Jerry's passing. We all loved working with Jerry for over twenty years. We were one of her first clients and enjoyed every minute of it. What an amazing woman she was. She will be dearly missed. May she RIP.

When Gary and I came to Norman, OK in 1983 from So. California to run 8 Kettle Restaurants, from Dallas to Tulsa, we had the pleasure of meeting Jerry and Max. Gary and Max shared multiple stories of teaching and coaching basketball. Both Jerry and Max became interested in the restaurant business as you all well know. When we came back to So. Cal. Max and Jerry took over the Kettle in Norman. We have such fond memories of those years. Jerry was one of the most remarkable women we had ever known. Very bright, hard working, honest and just a joy to be around. It was truly our honor and pleasure to have known her. Heaven has truly gained a true "star" ...her light will live on with all that knew her....Gary and Sue Sell

I am thankful to have known "Mrs. Marquardt" and your family for what feels like my entire life. Our families have been friends through Norman Public Schools, Norman High, Cleveland, basketball, babysitting, Kettle days, Kappa, and Anything Goes. She was my beloved 3rd grade teacher. Each time I write in cursive, I think of her...learning to write those letters was one of the best elementary memories. She taught me "i before e" by saying this phrase: "It would be the end, without a friend." I learned multiplication tables by playing "Around the World." I remember learning plurals, in another quick-paced game to reinforce the lesson. Most students got simple ones: dog--dogs, bicycle--bicycles, phone--phones. At my turn, I got mouse. Without thinking, I of course said, "Mouses." She BUSTED out laughing, because as soon as I said it, I realized it was MICE!!! (I've never said "mouses" since!)
I have treasured her friendship and mentorship far beyond 3rd grade circa 1978-79. Through the years and conversations, her calm, gentle heart ALWAYS brightened my day and encouraged me to be a kinder, softer, more intentional person. Most recently, she helped me design t-shirts for Alcott. I brought my children with me to a few appointments, and we would tell 3rd grade stories to them. I LOVED introducing my children to her, and she was so interested in knowing them.
I want you all to know that her life has, for years, profoundly affected mine, and I will cherish her memory, humbly grateful to have known and been taught by her. I pray comfort and mercy for all of you, confident that her spirit lives on in each of your lives. May her memory be eternal.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Jerry's passing. I fondly remember all of the times she was at practices with her little "rugrat's" at the gym. She was always encouraging, smiling and a wonderful ambassador for Norman High School Basketball. My thoughts are with Brad, Cindy and Brent and their families.
