Burt Minnekine Obituary
CUBA - Burt F. Minnekine, 81, of Cuba, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2025, at Olean General Hospital.
He was born Oct. 28, 1943, the son of the late Leo and May Hart Minnekine.
Mr. Minnekine had worked with the Catt. Co. Highway Dept. for many years running the guardrail crew as well as a loader operator and truck driver. He also worked at Little Valley Sand and Gravel.
He was a past chief at the Little Valley Vol. Fire Department, was active with the DoubleTree Draft Pony Pullers, and was a long time coach of the Little Valley Panthers PeeWee/Midget football program.
Mr. Minnekine is survived by his loving companion, Linda Murphy of Cuba; three sons, Kenneth Minnekine of Little Valley, Scott Minnekine of Chester, Va. and Matthew (Chrissy) Minnekine of Little Valley; and a daughter, Tammy Minnekine of Chester. Also surviving are three stepsons, Aaron (Stephanie) Murphy of Cuba, Darrell (Kelly) Murphy of Delevan and Eric (Barb) Murphy of Bliss; with 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Alice Coffey of Holley and Mary Charlesworth of Little Valley; along with several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Phyllis Dougherty.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Little Valley Vol. Fire Dept.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mentley Funeral Home Inc. 411 Rock City St. in Little Valley.
