Gerald Leveille Obituary

Gerald Leveille - loving husband, father, grandfather & brother

HINSDALE --- Gerald Leveille of Cooper Hill Road passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2023, at the Pines of Machias.

Gerald was born on November 19, 1927, in Niagara Falls and was the son of Leon and Therese Lalonde Leveille. On February 6, 1954, in Buffalo he married his loving wife. Beatrice M. Closs, who survives.

Jerry enlisted in the United States Army Air Force on May 5, 1948, where he served in WWII and the Korean War until he was honorably discharged on April 5, 1952. During that time Jerry earned a WWII Victory medal and a Korean Service medal with 5 bronze campaign stars. Later Jerry re-enlisted in the Air Force reserves in Niagara Falls Air Force Base until he retired in 1990.

Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and farming. He was always a handy man and loved health, fitness, and riding his bike.

Beside his loving wife Beatrice, Jerry is survived by his nine children: Theresa Schmidt, Daniel (Rhonda) Leveille, Judith (Donald) Bain, Patricia (Byron) Snow, Denise (Scott) Purrier, Jeanne McDonald, Laurence (Teri) Leveille, Marguerite Leveille, and Phillip (Jenna) Leveille, 23 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, his brothers: Marcel (Pierrette), Gilles, Raymond (Francine), and George (Ginette) Leveille, his sister Gracia Lavoie, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jerry was predeceased by his parents and four brothers: Edgar "Frank", Roland, Augustine, and Eugene.

Friends will be received at the Babbitt & Easton Funeral Home 7 North Main Street, Franklinville, NY 14737 on Monday July 31, 2023, from 12:00-2:00pm at which time full military honors will be provided with a funeral service to follow at 3:00pm at the St. Philomena's Roman Catholic Church 26 Plymouth Ave, Franklinville where Father JJ Mancuso will officiate. Jerry was one of my favorite people in the world. When I was young I had such a crush on him even though he was my first cousin. I hope he is now in heaven playing chess with my husband.
