Darryl McCullers Obituary

In Loving Memory of Darryl Matthew McCullers October 12, 1960 – September 11, 2025.

Darryl Matthew McCullers of Signal Hill, California, passed away suddenly on September 11, 2025, from a heart attack at the age of 64. Born on October 12, 1960 in Harlingen, Texas, Darryl lived a life marked by compassion, humor, and unwavering generosity.

A proud graduate of Bellevue High School in Bellevue, Nebraska (Class of 1978), Darryl went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in Medicine from the University of Nebraska School of Medicine. His professional journey led him to California, where he worked in hazardous chemical abatement and pursued several successful real estate ventures.

Darryl was a devoted Friend of Bill, passionately committed to helping others find hope and healing. His door-and his heart-were always open. Whether it was a friend in crisis or a stray animal in need, Darryl never turned anyone away. His kindness was matched only by his sharp wit and infectious laughter, which could light up any room and lift any spirit.

He is survived by his twin brother, David; his niece, Melissa M. Oestmann; and his nephew, David R. McCullers. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, David D. and Shirley M. McCullers.

Darryl's legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched. We have been deeply moved by the outpouring of love and stories shared by his friends-testaments to a man who was truly one of a kind. He had a big heart, a wicked sense of humor, and a soul that radiated warmth.

He will be missed more than words can express. A remembrance service will be held in Los Angeles, CA.
