Susan McCullers Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home and Cremation Chapel - Covington on Dec. 13, 2025.
Susan McCullers, age 82, of Covington, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2025. Born on August 18, 1943, in Elberton, Georgia, Susan was the cherished daughter of the late Harry and Irene England. She grew up in Lithonia, where she cultivated lifelong friendships and graduated from Lithonia High School.

Susan dedicated many years of service to the City of Conyers, working in the water department. She was known for her diligence and kindness among colleagues and the community. In her leisure, Susan found joy in tending to her yard and nurturing beautiful flowers, a passion that brought happiness to those around her.

Susan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Johnny McCullers; her daughter, Susan Crowder; and her sisters, Dale Mote and Maxine Wallace. She will be deeply missed by her surviving daughter, Shelley Hammonds (Zack); her grandchildren, Adam Crowder (Amy), Amber Crowder, Mikayla Weilbaker (Dalyn), and Miranda Hammonds; and her great grandchildren, Makenzie, Serenity, Taylor, Ryleigh, Kacie, Bryson, and Brayden. Susan is also survived by her sister, Penny Bowker; several nieces, nephews, other family members, and a host of close friends who will hold her memory dear.

The funeral service for Mrs. McCullers will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Croyle officiating. Interment will follow at East Lithonia Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Sunday, prior to the service.

Susan's legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
