Well, I was just thinking of you today when I remembered I have to schedule a doctors appt. As you know I sold that "Damn house in In" and we are all settled in TN. I giggle to myself every now and then when I hear your voice inside my head saying "Hey kid, what the hell are you still doing in Indiana." I just decided to write a little note to say I'm thinking about you and I miss you. Maybe I'll write a little every month to make myself fell better.

Donnie & Rosemary w/ Cousins

Sean & Maureen O'Leary

June 22, 2007

We always looked up to Donnie as our older cousin. His crystal blue eyes and vibrant smile were always so electric. When he would come to visit in Philadelphia we would flock to see him with excitement. We visited Donnie in Omaha in 1983 as teens and we remember it like it was yesterday. We wish we could turn back the clock to do it again if not for just one day. He always welcomed us with love and kindness. We also give thanks to Donnie for his service to this country and making it a safer place for all of us. Although we lost touch over the years, he always was close at heart. Aunt Rosemary, Uncle Don, Bobby & Rosemary words can not express how saddened we are. Our prayers & thoughts are with you. Love, Sean & Maureen

I’m not very good at “goodbye” it just sounds too permanent. So Donnie, I raise my shot glass and toast you, my hero, my cousin, my friend, until we meet again……..

Rosemary and Don,
I find it very difficult to put my feelings down on paper, but let me try. I remember when Donnie was born how happy we were. I remember when you guys left for Alaska, and I had a hard time dealing with that. I also remember when you came home, how happy mom, dad and the rest of us were. I remember Donnie in our wedding (kicking his feet up the aisle like a little soldier ). Most of all I remember the last two years and the many talks Donnie and I had, his upbeat attitude as he knew what I was going through with Lisa. The two of them became very close and I was happy for that. All I can say now is that God had a bigger plan for Donnie and who am I to question. I know that he is with mom, dad and Bernie and they will take good care of him. I am so sorry that I wasn’t there with you, but keep in mind we love you all and you’re in our prayers and thoughts. Donnie, you may be gone but never forgotten.

Dear Don and Rosemary,

I was deeply saddened to hear of Donnie's passing. Ever since I came here to Nebraska, both you and Donnie made me feel welcomed, and I will always appreciate that. Donnie was a good friend, a good son, and a good man. I shall miss him greatly. My deepest and sincerest sympathy to you both, and to your family.
