Survived by wife, Mary Kathryn (Heine); daughters, Mary Graft (Bill), Jeanne Baker (Jeff), Ellen Fitzpatrick M.D. (Christophe Mihy), Anne Fitzpatrick M.D. (Mitch Krueger), Elizabeth Fitzpatrick M.D. (Carlos Noel)son, Thomas Fitzpatrick; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Preceded in death by his infant son, John Francis; parents, James and Gladys Fitzpatrick; brothers, Jim Fitzpatrick, Robert Fitzpatrick, Raymond Fitzpatrick; sister, Patricia Fitzpatrick Pyle; mother and father-in-law, Carl and Cecilia Heine; and brother-in-law, Carl Heine, Jr.; as well as several nieces and nephews.
VIGIL: Sunday, August 10, 2025, 7 p.m., with VISITATION beginning at 5 p.m., at West Center Chapel.
MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Monday, August 11, 2025, 11 a.m., Mary Our Queen Catholic Church, 3405 S. 118th St., Omaha.
INTERMENT: Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Creighton Prep, Monastery of St. Clare, Mary Our Queen parish.

Whenever and wherever we would meet, John and I would regale each other with our stories of life on 27th St., St. Bridget's, Prep, South Omaha, St. Joe's Hospital, and all things Catholic, medical, or Omaha. I knew him to be a good man, good doctor, and I'm saddened by his loss. My condolences to the family.

Our prayers and deepest sympathy are with Dr. Fitzpatrick's family. I have fond memories of doing surgery with Dr. Fitzpatrick at Bergan surgery. He was a kind, compassionate person and talented surgeon.

John was my Mother's ( passed away Oct. 2024 ) doctor. When John retired, Anne was our doctor. We both spoke very highly of John as well as Dr.Anne. Two great physicians ! RIP John
