It is that time of year and I will root for San Francisco when they are are not playing Colorado. Pray everyone is doing fine after losing such a great person.

I was completely shocked to hear of your loss and such a great friend of mine. I still remember when Steve, Chuck Petersen, and I did a road trip to Charleston to meet a bunch of guts and go to the Masters practice rounds and then back to watch the Masterson the weekend. We were there for golf and the Masters. It was a great trip and will always remember. He was such a great ball player and that made him beat me many times in golf. Sorry we can not be there for the service. God Bless everyone. Oh yeah, I remember when we were in High School and played golf in the winter. First of all a bad idea. I was the only one who caught pneumonia.

Dearest Sara -- many of Steve's classmates have commented on the 1968 Westside High School Omaha Facebook page. If you would like to read them, please send a friend request to that page. I'm sure you know how much our class admired and loved Steve. He was always kind, inclusive, humble, and a great leader. A real prince.

He was an amazing brother and friend and second father. The keenest mind I've ever known. It was so tragic that Alzheimer's took it from him. But I'll remember him at his sharpest. Love you, bro.

OMG-learning of Steve's passing this morning was a shocker. We were friends and classmates at law school and remained so thereafter. Rest in peace my friend.
