John Egan Obituary
Born in Oneida, on Oct. 7, 1993, he was the son of John H. and Melissa Smith Egan III. A lifelong resident of this area, John was an honor graduate of Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School, Class of 2011. Growing up in the area, he was active in Pop Warner and Boy Scouts, and enjoyed skateboarding.
Surviving besides his parents, John and Melissa "Missy," are his two sisters, Christina Way of West Eaton and Andrea Egan, at home; his girlfriend, Alyssa Lynch of Oneida; his maternal grandparents, William and Ellen Smith of Oneida; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, John and Reva Lynch Egan.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Monday from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main St., Oneida, with the Rev. Chris Kinnell, officiating. Interment will be made in Sunnyside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, prior to the funeral service. Contributions, in John's memory, may be made to VVS Dollars for Scholars, Box 63, Sherrill, N.Y. 13461. Envelopes for this fund may be obtained at the funeral home.

I was so shocked to have just come across this article today. I graduated BOCES with Johnny and I will always remember his smile and laughter. The only thing God wants is for us to know him and I know Johnny is up there with him now, waiting for you to join him. My church and I will be praying for you and your family.

John... I was shocked to hear what had happened. I still am shocked. Even though we had so much happen here, I still could not stop thinking about what happen with your family. I want to continue remembering that God is holding a place for the heartbroken and dismayed and hes happy now and now thanking u with understanding for each day of his life knowing he will see you all again soon. I was very saddened to read of the passing of your son. I will always remember John as such a respectful and polite young man.
