Karla Cunningham Obituary
She was born on Feb. 22, 1983, in Syracuse, a daughter of Stephen and Doreen Muir Cunningham.
Karla lived in the Canastota area most of her life, attending the Canastota and Remsen schools. She has, also, lived in Remsen, Marcy, and Oneida, before moving to Peterboro.
She worked as a server at the Colgate Inn in Hamilton, and had previously worked at Leandro's Restaurant & Sports Bar in Canastota.
Karla enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with her family, especially her niece and nephews. She loved all animals, especially dogs.
Surviving are: her fiancé, Brendan Boyd of Peterboro; her parents, Stephen and Doreen Cunningham of Whitelaw; one brother, Stephen D. Cunningham of Whitelaw; a sister, Jessica L. Cunningham and Matthew Houghtalen of Oneida; maternal grandmother, Ella Muir of Oneida; as well as several aunts, uncles, nephews, and cousins. Karla was predeceased by a niece, Evalyn Houghtalen.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., Canastota. Pastor Donna Chapman, of the Whitelaw Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Calling hours will be held Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home, 201 James St., Canastota. In her memory, contributions may be made to her family, c/o Stephen and Doreen Cunningham, 8774 Whitelaw Road, Canastota, N.Y. 13032, or to Hunt Of A Lifetime Foundation, P.O. Box 241, Harborcreek, Pa. 16421, which is an organization that makes wishes come true for terminally ill children. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Thinking of you today. It's so crazy it's already been a year without you. It gives me strength to get through today knowing you are at peace. I think of you often, and our many chats and laughs we shared. I have so much I wish I could tell you, even things I think you might want to punch me for! This last year has been difficult for me in a lot of ways, but I can't help but feel that wherever you are, you've helped give me the strength to get through my trials and tribulations, the way I helped you so many times. Karla, It's so difficult to not have you here with us. Not a minute or day goes by that we don't think of something you said, or did that made us laugh and smile. King and Trigger are at a loss too. We love you always and you are forever in our hearts.

Friday February 22, was Karla's birthday she would have been 30. so hard to believe she is not here. i hope there is peace where she is at now.
