Kevin Meacham Obituary
Kevin was born Feb. 13, 1961 in Oneida, N.Y., the son of Carlton Edward and Sonya Ann Meacham. He married Mary Beth Winn also formerly from Oneida in 1983. He was a graduate of Oneida High School in 1979 and then joined the United States Marine Corp in 1980 where he proudly served four years upon receiving the Honorable Discharge in 1984.
Kevin was self-employed until 2012 working as a sales agent in the apparel industry. Recently he was employed by Bank of America in Dallas, Texas until his death.
Kevin loved music which became his great passion. He was known as one of the elite drummers among his musical colleagues. While living in Central New York he and his wife Mary were members of several bands, and one of Central New York's favorite, Ardent. Last summer Mary and Kevin reunited with longtime band member Roy Coston to play in front of over 500 of their loyal fans back in Oneida.
Kevin is survived by his first and only love Mary; his daughter Carly age 20 also from Sherman, Texas; sisters Carlene and her husband Matt Herboldt of Colchester, Conn., Pat and her husband Dick White, of Oneida, N.Y., Lou Anne Brennan of Oneida, N.Y.; and brothers Kim and his wife Ingrid Meacham of Plano, Texas, Ed and Paula Meacham of Sherman, Texas, several nieces and nephews.
Kevin is preceded in death by father, Carl Meacham, mother, Sonya Meacham and sister, Terry Meacham.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Jack's or Better on Lake Road in Oneida. Friends are invited. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Coolican-McSweeney Funeral Home, Oneida, N.Y.

Have not been able to bring myself to sign this guestbook until now. This all seems surreal and so hard to accept. Kevin Meacham was a light and a talent in an otherwise difficult world. We never will understand this loss, but we will try to get through with the great memories. What an awesome guy! Mary and Carly, our hearts go out to you and may you find some semblance of peace someday. He will always be with you. Until we meet again Kevin, watch over your beautiful daughter and us all. I can't ever remember seeing Kev without a smile on his face!!! We did some fun stuff at Meacham's Pub!!! I remember him laughing at me when Ed was trying to teach me (Smoke On The Water) on guitar, mite have been a few to many beers consumed??? He tried to teach me w/ no luck & some good laughs. I had a chance to chat with Kevin during the break at their performance at Jacks or Better last summer with Roy and the Foghat guy. That million dollar smile. He said, "Hey Jamie, been a while, good to see you". I'm very glad to remember that last time I spoke with him. Was like he never left. I'm going to keep that thought in mind. I'm thankful to have shared just a few minutes with Kevin last year. Kind of guy that if you met him just once, you would not forget him. Til we see you again Kevin.

Kevin was "My favorite Meacham Boy". I still cannot believe that he's gone. I guess God was looking for a drummer. I am glad that he was able to spend some times back at the drums this last year. My regret is never getting to see him play live. Of men, Kevin was one of the best, always calm, cool, collected, had such a genuine smile. My heart breaks for his family. He is a man who made the world a better place to be. You are well missed my favorite Meacham boy. Drum on.
