My condolences to all Marty's family. We were classmates; friends; played football together; laughed irreverently together. Some of my favorite memories of those years involve him---stories I've told my kids. He called life as he saw it. A great guy.

Marty was wonderful person whose commonsense responses to any situation were always appreciated. He cared deeply about the work of USDA RD and more importantly he cared deeply about his colleagues. To his family, he will be missed and thank you for sharing him for so many years.

Marie and family - I am so saddened and shocked to hear of Marty´s passing. He was such a good buddy of mine when we worked together for RD. He was such a colorful "character ", always ready with a joke, albeit often somewhat off color or politically incorrect. I also remember how nice he looked at his daughter´s wedding, how proud he was, and how much he adored his grandson. We all loved him for that; he always brought a smile to our hearts. I can´t be there in person to give you hugs but will be there in spirit. He will always be remembered with love; I will sorely miss him. "Perhaps they´re not just stars but windows to Heaven through which our loved ones shine to let us know we are not alone." Marcy Newman XO
