I am paying respects to the family of Buddy. I never met any of you but Buddy and I were on the Whitehall Baseball teams in the 40's. He was a great pitcher and a good friend.
Although I had not seen Buddy in 60 years, I think of those days often.

Aunt Ruth, Kay, Terry and Ken, I remember all the "great" times that I had in Athens at Moma and Daddy Compton's old house, out there sitting under the big shade tree. Uncle Buddy would sit there and entertain us all with his stories. Uncle Buddy could make a room light up just with his big wonderful smile. I know that this is very hard, too much loss this year for our family. Just remember that we now have one more "Guardian Angel" looking over us and loving us from above. Please know that I wanted to be there, but I couldn't, not yet. I miss ya'll so much now, but I know that you feel my love for all of you. I hope that all the wonderful memories will warm you heart, and make you know that you were very lucky to have such a wonderful husband and father, because I know that I was very lucky to have him as my uncle!!! I LOVE ALL OF YOU SO MUCH.
