Anne Hull Obituary

Mrs. Anne Laura Laughlin Hull, 95, transitioned to her heavenly home on Saturday, April 8, 2017.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Monday, April 10, 2017, at Chester ARP Church with Dr. Dwight Pearson officiating and the Rev. Clint Davis assisting. Interment followed in Chester Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Hull was born July 10, 1921, in Gaffney, S.C. and was a daughter of the late Jasper Lee Laughlin Sr. and Lorena Wilson Laughlin. She was a graduate of the schools of Cherokee County, S.C. She was employed by Springs Industries, Women on the Home Front in New Jersey during WWII and was employed for over 20 years with the United States Dept. of Agriculture and S.C. Soil and Water Conservation as an executive clerk/typist. Mrs. Hull also did volunteer work at the Chester County Library reading for the Story Hour and was a volunteer clerical worker at Lowrys Family Medicine.
Her favorite role was as a dedicated and industrious wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting and cooking for her family and friends.
Mrs. Hull was an active former member of Second Baptist Church and in later years a loyal member of Chester ARP Church, where she was involved in Women's Ministries and teaching Sunday School.
She is survived by two daughters, Vicki H. Dorr (Eddie) of N. Charleston and Beverly H. Stone (Sam) of Chester; four grandchildren, Scarlett A. Johnson of Cary, N.C., Caroline C. Johnson of Wake Forest, N.C., Marcus M. Stone (Pam) of Richburg and Peter R. Stone (Katharine) of Chester; one great-grandchild, Olivia P. Stone of Richburg; one brother, James F. Laughlin of California; one sister, Barbara L. Sansbury (Ferrel) of Santee, S.C.; numerous loved nieces and nephews; her loyal friend, Adeleine Culclasure; and her dear friend, Mary Davis.
Mrs. Hull was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Marcus Albert "Buster" Hull; two sisters, Pauline L. Thomas (Fred) and Wilma L. Self (Tom); and one brother, Jasper Lee Laughlin Jr.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chester ARP Church Benevolent Fund, P.O. Box 174, Chester, SC 29706; Hospice Care of S.C., 173 Columbia St., Chester, SC 29706; or the charity of one's choice.
