Eddie Weaver Obituary

WEAVER, MR. EDDIE
RICHARD, 88, died on Saturday, March 9, 2013 in St. Petersburg, FL. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of Walter Weaver and Sadie Weaver. Eddie served time with the Army Air Corps, now known as the Air Force, as an airplane and engine mechanic. "Buckeye Belle", the Mustang Fighter plane he maintained had "Rebel Devil" for Sgt. Weaver painted on one side. His unit, the 318th Fighter Squadron received a Presidential Citation.
Eddie spent most his life in Orlando, FL, where early on he helped operate the Lakeview Lodge Fish Camp on Lake Apopka, with his parents and his brother. He was always saddened by the disastrous loss of Lake Apopka and always blamed it on the chemical spraying which killed the fish and the plants. He once stated that his best years were at Lake Apopka in 1948 and 1949. He flew seaplanes over Lake Apopka after the fish camp was sold and always visited the lake when in the Orlando area. Eddie later built and opened Weavers Cleaners on Pine Hills Rd. Eddie was a Baptist and a die hard Democrat, which often led to debates, some heated, with his daughter and son. Eddie's interests were flying, hunting and singing. Eddie is survived by his daughter, Linda Clark, his son, Shane Weaver, his brother, Theron Weaver and two nieces.
