George Skeet Obituary

George Edward Skeet, chef and musician, passed away in Orlando, Florida on July 3, 2021 at the age of 93.

Born in Oulton Broad, England, Mr. Skeet served proudly in the Royal Army. During that time, he met his beloved wife of 57 years. They came to the US in the 1950's where his training in French cuisine led to their employment as chef and housekeeper for a prominent New York family.

Mr. Skeet pursued several side occupations and hobbies including photography, bridge, magazine publishing, and cabinetry. His greatest passion, Big Band music, resulted in a new career upon his retirement. A saxophonist and clarinetist, he led the popular Orlando-based dance ensemble, George and The Escorts.

Revered for his wit and wisdom, Mr. Skeet is predeceased by his wife, Eva, and survived by his daughter Yvonne, his wonderful British family, and numerous friends.

Arrangements to be made privately according to his wishes.

Memories of my times with George never fail to bring a smile. He always appreciated my dinners and I kept issuing invitations. He was so well informed and never veered from an acute awareness as he aged. George was a charming gentleman and will join Eva in my memories of special people whom I´ve met on my journey.

If you'd like to make a donation in my Dad's memory, I know that he'd be happy with any legitimate charity that you choose. His open-minded nature would surely be gratified by a contribution to a religious or spiritual organization or to a non-profit human, animal, or community services agency.
