Hallie Cale Obituary

CALE, HALLIE VIRGINIA SANDRIDGE, died on Monday May 20, 2002. She was born February 25, 1910 in Albermarle County, Virginia, daughter of the late Ernest L. Sandridge and the late Nannie Madison Sandridge. Her husband, Paul Harrell Cale, Sr., former Superintendent of Albermarle County Schools, preceded her in death. Mrs. Cale was a graduate of Marjorie Webster College, Washington, D.C. She was a member of Crozet Baptist Church for over 80 years, where she served in various capacities, and she was a volunteer worker for the 'Reach to Recovery' Program of the Charlottesville-Albermarle Cancer Society. In recent years she resided in Winter Park, FL, and was an associate member of the Winter Park Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Cale is survived by one daughter, Suzanne Cale Wood of Winter Park, FL; two sons, William Ernest Cale and Paul Harrell Cale, Jr., both of Hilton Head Island, SC; two daughter-in-laws, Mary Hyder Cale and Jan Hartzell Cale; seven grandchildren, Paula S. Wood and Michael Wood; Alyssa Jones and husband Brad; Tracy Kelly and husband Art; Whitney Cale, Charney Cale and Hallie Cale; and one great grandson, Cale Jones. Funeral service will be held in the sanctuary of the Crozet Baptist Church, Crozet, VA at 5PM on Friday May 24, 2002. Interment will be in the Rockgate Cemetery, Crozet, VA. A memorial service will be held at the Winter Park Towers, Winter Park, FL, at a later date. Contributions may be made to the Crozet Baptist Church for the Cale Memorial Fund, St. George Avenue, Crozet, VA 22932; the Charlottesville-Albermarle County unit of American Cancer Society, or the charity organization of your choice.
