Jane Quinn Obituary

QUINN, JANE, age 87, of Orlando, died Dec. 1, 2003, at Florida Hospital in Orlando. She was native of San Antonio, Texas, a member of the Catholic faith, and a graduate of St. Joseph Academy. She was author of "Minorcans in Florida, Their History and Their Heritage," "The Story of a Nun: Jeanie Gordon Brown," of the Sisters of St. Joseph, and "Catholics of Marion County: A Record of the Growth of the Oldest Catholic Community in Central Florida." She was managing editor of The Florida Catholic for many years, first while it was located in St. Augustine, and later in its Orlando office. She was a reporter for The St. Augustine Record, covering local news and features in the late 1930s and early 1940s. Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 5 at the Cathedral-Basilica of St. Augustine. Officiating: Rev. Father D. Terrence Morgan, pastor. Survivors: Her brother and sister-in-law, James and Marie Quinn, Onley, MD; one niece, two nephews, four grand-nieces and two grand- nephews. In charge: Craig Funeral Home and Crematory St Augustine, FL is in charge of the arrangements.
