Rosalind Yarbrough Obituary

YARBROUGH, ROSALIND, Rosalind Fairfax Yarbrough (nee Boggs) passed away in her home on June 28, 2006. Mrs. Yarbrough was born in Bristol, TN on September 11, 1921. She was the daughter of John Walter and Edith Melissa (Ritchie) Boggs. A resident of Winter Park since 1934, she graduated from Winter Park High School and attended Florida State College for Women (now FSU). She was employed as program director of Radio Station WDBO for 30 years. She is preceded in death by her husband James Edgar Yarbrough, who was WDBO Radio and TV chief engineer. Her special interests were music, writing, reading, and travel. She toured many European countries, Australia, New Zealand, Egypt, Israel, and Jordan, but London remained her favorite city, where she enjoyed London Symphony Orchestra concerts for many years. She was a member of Park Lake Presbyterian Church for seventy-two years; an active member of the Partners Sunday School class; member of the Orlando Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution and Jefferson Davis Chapter #2173, United Daughters of the Confederacy. Mrs. Yarbrough is survived by her devoted sister, Mrs. James F. Holly (Gloria), Orlando; two nieces, Mrs. Douglas (Melissa) Sale, Panama City, FL, Ms. Priscilla Rand, Jackson, MS; one nephew, James F. Holly III., Lt. Colonel, U.S. Army (Ret.), Cumming, GA. Graveside services will be held at Palm Cemetery, Winter Park, Friday, June 30, 2006 at 11AM with Dr. Don T. DeBevoise officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Park Lake Presbyterian Church, Vitas Hospice Care, 5151 Adanson Street, Suite 200, Orlando, FL 32804, or charity of your choice.

Gloria, I am so sorry for your loss. Rosalind was a dear friend of my self and my husband T.S. Penney. I did not know of her passing because I have moved near Ocala.
