EDWARD HANSON Obituary

EDWARD HANSON Edward Jonathan Hanson, age 78 of Comins, Michigan, passed away at Munson Health Care Grayling Hospital on Saturday, January 13, 2024. Edward was born in Alpena, Michigan on January 25,1945 to Roy and Audrey (Wiggins) Hanson. He served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Edward married Carol on July 5,1969 in Pontiac, Michigan. He worked as a Social Worker at the Oakland County Children's Village in Waterford Township from 1970 - 2002. In 2002, Edward and Carol moved to Comins. Edward was a member of the Comins Eagles, the Wild Turkey Federation, and the Bone Head Hunting Club. He enjoyed hunting, ice fishing, golfing, and woodworking. Edward is survived by his wife Carol of Comins, MI; his children: Jonathan (Heather) Hanson of Ortonville, MI and Deborah (Allen) Ego of Clarkston, MI; his sister Patricia Sydow of Swartz Creek, MI; his grandchildren: Olivia, Riley, Luke, Logan, Emma, and Sofia; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother David Hanson, and his sister Carolyn Fryfogle. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 17,2024 at the Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI, at 11 AM with Pastor Lowell Eastman officiating, with Military Honors offered by the Luzerne American Legion. Interment of ashes will take place in the Spring at Clinton Township Cemetery, Comins, Michigan. Memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516, or online at woundedwarriorproject.org. Arrangements by Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI.

A great friend. Knew him from the Bonehead club. No one gave more of themselves. Making pickles, soup,sausage patties. Buying the groceries or shooting camp meat. Sleeping in a chair. The memories he left , will be missed but not forgotten
