Norman Root Obituary

Norman R. Root, 68, passed away from heart complications and multiple myeloma on November 6, 2022. He was born on March 12, 1954 in Corry Pennsylvania to Betty (Jewel) and Theodore Root.

He attended Corry High School, he married Cindy Jones on February 23, 2010 in Oshkosh, WI. He worked as an Electronic Technician and later worked as a school bus driver for nine years until he retired.

Norman greatly enjoyed his cabin up north, he spent as much time as possible there, hunting, fishing with his children, camping, cribbage, and spending time with family and friends. He was always willing to give a helping hand. Norman loved to shoot pool with his buddies at the Varsity Club. Most times if he wasn't up to his cabin, he could be found there shooting pool.

Norman is survived by his wife, Cindy Root; mother, Betty Jewel of Duncan, OK; sister, Tammy Prince of Duncan, OK; daughter, Ronya Dehn, of Oshkosh, sons, Kenneth (Tiffany Turner) Root of Oshkosh, and Glenn Root of Oshkosh; step-children, Tisha Leyh of Fond du Lac, Laura Leyh of Appleton, Vernon Oppermann of Oshkosh; step-sisters, Gloria, Lynn, and Lori; he is further survived by 23 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren, all of which deeply loved him.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Sandy Bates; step-father, Kenneth Jewel; and brother, Owen Jaggi.

A celebration of life was held from 12pm to 3pm, November 19, 2022 at the Varsity Club, 570 N. Main, Oshkosh WI 54901.
