Mark Allen Obituary
Heaven just received their greatest Pittsburg Steeler Fan. Mark Steven Allen, 65, of Midland, died Sunday, January 2, 2022, at the MidMichigan Medical Center. He was born December 28, 1956, in Kalamazoo, the son of the late Harold and Ann (Richmond) Allen. Mark attended and graduated from Midland High School class of 1975. He later attended Michigan Technical University and Saginaw Valley State College where he received his bachelor's degree. Mark had been employed 30 years as a Mental Health Technician with Midland Hospital Center. In September 2001, he married the former Kathy Asher. Mark was very active with his son's scout troops and in every event in their lives. He been a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. Mark is survived by his sons, Raleigh Taylor Allen and Jordan Robert Allen, and his son's mother Kathy Allen, all of Midland. He is also survived by his brother Mike (Renee) Allen of Florida and his sister Sandra (John) LaPrad of Midland; surviving nieces and nephews are Bethany and Angela LaPrad, and Michael (Ashley) Allen and Lindsey Allen, 1 great nephew and 2 great nieces.
Visitation for Mark will take place Saturday from 1 – 3 p.m. at the Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 West Wheeler Street. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be directed to the American Heart Association. The family request full COVID protocols be met at the visitation. No mask, no admittance.

I remember Mark well... he was an important part of the " glue" that keep the mental health unit a high performing organization that provided excellent patient care . Mark made a positive difference in a lot of peoples lives and earned both our admiration and respect.
