Ann was a high school friend. We had many spend the night study sessions. After her father died, she called mine two poppa. After her mother died, she no longer came through GA to go to SC and we lost touch. Thankfully her brother called this week end to give us the sad news. We will miss the beautiful, warm smile. May you rest in peace.

i am so sorry to hear of ann's passing. I graduated with her at claxton high, claxton Georgia. my wife died 2014, so I am a little knowledgeable of what her husband surely must be going through. because in school ann and my wife were similar. quiet, caring, loving people. I tried to drink myself to death 4 nine months. that didn't work. so I did what Martha ask me 2 do for 52 great years, accepted Christ as my Saviour and got busy in her Baptist church. I still love & miss her every day, but now know we b together again one day forever. best regards 2 all her family. irvin sapp. claxton, ga.

My condolences to the family. She was my english teacher in high school. I'll never forget her and always considered her a friend. Very sad to hear of her passing. She went out on a limb for me several times and she was one of two teachers I remember fondly in all the years of grade school. Such a lovely person.. I was just thinking of her a few hours before receiving the news.

Mrs. Mixon was my 9th grade English teacher. I remember her as a fun, involved and supportive teacher. One strong memory of her is that she loved the song, "Alley Oop", and we, as a freshman class, made a huge sign reading " Alley Oop, Mrs. Nixon!" for homecoming. My sincerest condolences to her family and loved ones...
