Burnell BUSS Obituary

Burnell "Bubba" Louis Buss was called home to heaven on May 22, 2018. Burnell is survived by his wife of 68 years, Donna Lee (Hoppens) Buss, two daughters, Sally Lee Emma (Robert) of Hartford, CT and Dr. Susan Buss Muldoon of Louisville, KY, six grandchildren, Aaron, Sara and Adam Emma, and Ian, Madeline and Lena Sophia Muldoon, and two great-grandsons, Hunter and Hudson Emma. Burnell was born on a farm in Blue Hill, NE in April 1929 to Bernard and Sophia (Arndt) Buss. He graduated from Blue Hill High School. Burnell and Donna were married in 1950. Shortly thereafter he enlisted in the US Air Force for 4 years serving as an aircraft mechanic. Burnell and Donna moved to the Chicago, IL area in 1956 where they lived, worked and raised their family for 20 years. In 1976, Burnell and Donna moved to his beloved Florida where he continued to work for another 14 years. Burnell worked in Geneva, IL for 20 years and Coral Springs, FL until he retired in 1990. He spent his entire working career as a mechanical engineer in the powder metallurgy field. Burnell was always interested in sports, football being his favorite. He and Donna lived in Pompano Beach for 23 years and moved to Boynton Beach in 1999 where they have been active in the Royal Palm Presbyterian Church. Burnell was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Memorial gifts can be given in Burnell's memory to Royal Palm Presbyterian Church in Lake Worth, FL.
