CHARLES ABRAMS "Blackhawk" Charles Abrams was born on May 5, 1934 in Macon, GA. He was the youngest of three children. As a young man, Charles served in the Air Force and was a Korean War veteran. In 1966, Charles married the love of his life, Carrie Willis; they moved to West Palm Beach in 1976. Charles became well-known in the West Palm Beach and Riviera Beach communities for his skills as a painter and carpenter. He was affectionately known by many as "Blackhawk," which was the name of his maintenance service. Charles was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. On Thursday, June 24, 2010, our Lord and Savior called him home. Charles Abrams is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Carrie; children: Avis Abrams Carter of San Antonio, TX; Larry Willis, Jesse Willis, Gregory Willis, and Shannon Abrams, all of West Palm Beach, FL; Pamela Willis (Lawrence Love) and Stacie Abrams, both of Riviera Beach, FL; Stephanie Nance (Timothy) of West Palm Beach, FL; grandchildren: Keyma Willis, Starling Willis, Keith Willis, Fredrick Leonard, Moab Abrams, Myesha Abrams, Marquez Abrams, Taylor Nance, Shanna Abrams, Shannon Abrams Jr., Kelsey Willis, Larry Willis Jr., Tony Willis and Quincy Carter; great grandchildren: Ta'Niya Leonard, Kevyun Willis, Larry Willis, Latija Willis, Kelton Willis, Koree Willis, and Rahsaan Willis; predeceased: Louise Abrams, mother; Johnnie Mae and Maudestine Durham, sisters; Vanessa Abrams Willis, daughter. Charles is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Wake services will be held on Tuesday, June 29 from 3 PM - 5 PM at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 911 9th Street, West Palm Beach, FL, 561-832-2101. Homegoing services will take place on Wednesday, June 30 at 11 AM at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Siders Funeral Home Officiating, 561-820-1403.
