Charlotte Flowers Obituary
Relatives said Flowers was talkative and fairly active until last Sunday, when they noticed she was having trouble breathing and was unresponsive. Flowers was taken to the hospital, and on Wednesday was transferred to Hospice of Palm Beach County, where she died Friday morning.
"Even though she was probably in failing health, she was still trying to help, telling me 'Let me make up the bed,'" said granddaughter Rangelique Moultrie-McCray.
That says a lot about her grandmother's personality, a woman who always spoke her mind and never refused to help someone in need, Moultrie-McCray added.
"She was short in stature, but very large to me indeed," Moultrie-McCray said. "That's what she left with me her spirit of caring and taking care of each other."
Flowers, who lived in Riviera Beach with her great-granddaughter Mia and three great-great grandchildren, celebrated her milestone birthday in February with two parties and was given a proclamation and key to the city by Riviera Beach Mayor Thomas Masters and the city council. She also received letters from Rep. Alcee Hastings, D-Miramar and County Commissioner Priscilla Taylor.
Before moving to Riviera Beach, Flowers lived in her own home in North Florida until age 105. She outlived her six siblings and nine children, Moultrie-McCray said.
A memorial service is scheduled for 5 p.m Wednesday at Greater Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, 1340 W. 30 St., Riviera Beach. A celebration of her life will be held in Tallahassee next Saturday.
Besides Moultrie-McCray, Flowers is survived by four other grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great granchildren, 16 great great great granchildren and four great great great great grandchildren.

It is not very often we get to hear of someone living such a long full life, as the Psalmist describes - "with special mightiness." May your memories bring you joy while you are sustained by the God of comfort in this time of distress. To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.

But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

Mother Flowers was a very caring loving person I can remember her babysitting some of her great great grandchildren. I know her family will miss their "rock" but they know she is in God's hands.

I heard about this lovely woman on the internet, and also earlier around her birthday and the honors she received. I am familiar with that name up in the North Florida area, so I may have known some of her descendants. My condolences to her family, from one who never met her, but can tell she left a large impact on those she knew, loved, and even those who never met her. God's blessings to her family.
