Chris and I lived and loved together for many years. He was one of my best friends throughout all the time I knew him. If I could share an iota of the laughs and love I was lucky enough to be the recipient of ...
That kid oh my, he had the biggest heart in the world. The laughs? I think all I did was laugh when I was with him, if I wasn't trying to wring his neck...which he'd promptly get out of with that easy grin and mischievous blue eyes.
Chris had so many amicable traits, but his perseverance was what I respected most. He never gave up, no matter what and he was so generous and enthusiastic in his sharing of ideas and possibilities for this life. I am so saddened that he never got to realize that by his efforts alone he was succeeding more in life than most ever will. For at least he had the guts to try.
I miss my dear friend every day. Sometimes it comes as a smile or a laugh, and sometimes, like today, a wave of grief which is hard to describe. All I know, and all that I can take comfort in, is that in the months that he has passed he has visited me several times. Sometimes to comfort, sometimes to scold, sometimes just to say hello. And maybe that's just what's in my heart of him speaking, but I don't think so. I will always love and miss you buddy.

Diane and I were shocked and saddened by the tragic loss of Chris' life. We knew Chris since middle school and was a good friend of our daughter for many years. We will miss him.

I miss Chris more than anything else in my life. What an insufferable loss this has been to our family. He left before we could say goodbye or give him a hug. He was precious from the day he was born. The world is bleak without him. I pray each day that the good Lord has taken him in with Him and given him a special place in Heaven.

I will never forget the great times I've had with Chris and Alex at the Blue Parrot, beach parties, and working together. I am truly saddened by this terrible news. Chris (a.k.a. Scooter), you will be truly missed my friend. We’ve been close friends ever since the seventh grade when my older brother and your older sister became friends in high school. You rented a room from us in East Hampton in the summer of 98. I will always remember the day we had the water fight with Jesse on the porch in the babypool. When I heard the news, I went straight to those photos. We had such a fun time with you then and all the days afterwards. You had such a smile and love for life. You are missed already. Chris was a joy to be around. He always put other people's enjoyment and fun first, and was always giving and generous. He did a lot of living during his life, and his energy and enthusiasm could be felt by all. I feel the loss of his presence, but I am glad for having known him.

Whether it was work or play, Chris always had an impact on others. With his amazing work ethic and warm caring personality and smile, everyone wanted to be around him.

Chris, you are kind, sweet, hilarious and incredibly charismatic. I've missed you over the years and always counted on getting back in better touch at some point.
You are a huge bright spot in my memories from high school, and I will never forget how you always looked out for me- and agreed to be Otto so we could hang out during football games:)
I keep remembering the day you first got your driver's license and I was waiting on my parents front steps for you. I heard Bob Marley's "no woman, no cry" blasting before I even saw you come cruising along in your convertible.

Chris, when I heard the devastating news about your passing, I was immediately drawn to the place where our friendship all began -- at the gazebo. As I sat there, I smiled at the thought of you making fun of my big stupid helmet that could have fit two of my heads. Somehow, in the almost 20 years of our friendship, that story never got old. It is only one of so many fond memories of you that I have reflected on this week – memories I will hold on to forever, and will always make me smile. There is no doubt how much Chris was loved and how much he will be missed; he touched so many lives. To Alex: I know that feeling of adoration for a little brother, we've talked about it for hours. The news of Chris's death was a phone call I never thought I would get. It brought back a flood of wonderful memories of the times we all shared together. I will always remember Chris as a sweet, calm, gentle soul who absolutely loved life. Although we went our separate ways years ago, and subsequently lost touch, he helped to shape who I am today. To Zandar, Caroline and to Mr and Mrs Smith, I hope the words written in memory of Chris will help to soothe the pain of your immeasurable loss. God Bless

I am going to miss Chris terribly. He was a bright shining star for those who knew him. And many were fortunate to get to meet him through his restaurant, his dogs, surfing, or just shooting the breeze at a coffee shop. Chris was that all-too-rare person who made you feel better for having spent time with him. Because Chris was an optimist. He had a great, positive outlook and he was willing to share it. I first met Chris in Easthampton. It was a warm summer night and we were preparing at BBQ. My first impression was that he was really a unique and wonderful guy. My opinion never changed since that first night. Chris was truly a gentleman, a kind and caring person. He was kind to everyone and his smile just filled a room. This past winter we spent many nights and dinners enjoying ourselves with friends. We were always laughing. Chris just made everything easy. Chris, I will always remember yours smile and kind heart. Words can not truly describe how you will be missed and what a wonderful person you were. You will live in the hearts of your friends forever.

Chris (otherwise known as Scooter in his high school days) - I miss you, man. I've known you since kindergarten. We had some amazing times throughout the years. We never lost touch and always kept the friendship alive no matter where we lived or where we were in our lives. You were my brother. It was heart wrenching to hear

Ella's best friend was Chris. I can only imagine her waiting at the window looking at each car, trying to see if it is him coming home. Her excitement could not be expressed. I knew Chris through my son Tim. I spent time with him in East Hampton as well as here in Florida. He was with our family and friends this past Thanksgiving. He was adored by my granddaughters who thought he was not only really cute but just a great guy. And he was. He was the person everyone would love for a son, kind, generous, loving and always smiling. His loss is
almost overwhelming. May he find eternal peace and his family find the strength to endure their grief.
