Diane Allen Berryman Rickey

DIANE ALLEN BERRYMAN RICKEY 74 , died August 26 in Houston, Texas. She is survived by her sons: Harry William Berryman, Jr. (Lynn), and Tim Berryman (Louise); daughter, Amy Hart (David); grandchildren: Savoy, Kyle, Katy, and Matthew; granddaughter, Wende McKee; great-grandson, Irie Hall; sister, Unda Johnson (Howard); and nephews: Jeffrey and Jeremy. Diane received a Masters Degree from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC and taught English and Journalism at Lake Worth High School. Her love for the mountains took her back to North Carolina when she retired. She wrote a weekly column of humorous and poignant reminiscences of her childhood, friends and family for the Jefferson Post. She later wrote a family history of the Buchanan and Allen families as a lasting gift to those she loved. Diane will be forever missed, but her spirit will live on in those who knew and loved her.
