Edward RENDINE Obituary
Rendine, Edward R., 76 of North Providence and West Palm Beach, FL., passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, December 31, 2016. He was the beloved husband of Claire (Roy) Rendine. They were happily married for 29 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Frank and Carmella (Sylvestro) Rendine. Mr. Rendine had a 35+ year career at Fleet Bank during a time when Fleet grew from Rhode Island based bank to a national franchise. Among many positions at Fleet, his proudest accomplishment was being President of Fleet Credit Corp's Business Credit Division where he expanded the Asset Based Lending Business at Fleet to a regional and then national level. He served as a mentor and trained many commercial officers during his career. Ed was active in many local fund raising and community revitalization efforts over the years and was a board member of numerous not-for-profit organizations. He formed E.R. Rendine, LLP, consulting business in 1995 upon retiring from Fleet where he assisted many companies with their financial needs. In 2005 he fully retired and spent his winters enjoying Florida. He was an avid golfer and member of Bear Lakes Country Club in West Palm Beach. He was also a former member of Metacomet Country Club in East Providence, where he served as President as well as other Board positions for fourteen years.
Ed was a proud ex-marine serving during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was also an artist who loved to paint. Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children, Stephen Rendine, Melissa Corrente and her husband Joseph and Jessica Rendine and a sister, Donna Rendine. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Ryan, Dominic and Alison Corrente and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Frank Rendine. His funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 4th at 9am from the A.A. MARIANI & SON Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St., Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at St. Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Ave., Providence. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Visitation will be held Tuesday 4-8pm. Ed was one of the greatest men Iv known in my young life. It was always a true pleasure to be in his presence. We were 50 years apart in age and I still considered him a great friend. I believe that speaks to his character and charisma. He will be missed by everyone and forgotten by no one.
