Gunther Eichhorn, age 78, passed on his birthday, August 16, 2018. He was born in Neurenburg, Germany and lived through his college years in Tennessee. The majority of his life was spent in Florida where he invented 7 patents at United Technologies. He excelled in everything he did including photography, gardening, and was a renounded tennis player being first in the state and player of the year. Everyone loved and respected him and his wonderful sense of humor. He is survived by his loving wife, Diane, his son Patrick and daughter Sandra. He will leave a void in all our lives and hearts. Gunther was a pillar of the Palm Beach County tennis community. He took a great interest in the growth of the game, and was both participant and organizer, as well as one who encouraged many young players (and raised one of his own). We will miss him.

Gunther was our first next door neighbor after moving into our house years ago. Quickly we became friends. Mostly due to Gunther's friendly and outgoing personality. We have kept in touch over the years. Our condolences to all his love ones.

Gunther was a truly good man, a gentleman, a great athlete. I am so glad he had a long and happy marriage and two beautiful children of whom he was so proud. My condolences to his dear Diane. I hope they have tennis courts,in heaven - he will be a champion, as always.

Deeply regret to hear of Gunther's passing. We were high school classmates and good friends. He and his brother Herman attended the same church as I in Union City, TN. I was always impressed by his demeanor and ability to make friends. I lost touch with him shortly after graduation which I woefully regret. My condolences to his wife and family. In high school, Gunther was always one of my favorite people. Ruhe in Frieden.

Gunther as he was being visited by his Union City family while they were In Florida.
