So sorry to learn of Jack's passing. We became good friends at the Defense Information School at Fort Benjamin Harrison where we were training to be Public Affairs Officers. I remember Jack's wonderful sense of humor. Rest in peace, Jack.

Major Jack Rickman was my commanding officer at the Tactical Operation Center for Da nang at Camp Horn in 1972. I was an SP4 High Capacity Microwave Repairman and why I was sent to vietnam is stil a mystery. But I was glad and honored to work for one of finest officers I had met during my enlistment. He always asked the people under him to do a task, never commanded, never a loud voice, and never lost his cool. He left before I did, beleive it was benning or bragg, I think. Second cyops division. When I left, And returned to the states, I received a manilla envelope from Camp Horn. In the envelope were orders and the award of the bronze star. I new who put me in for it.

I was honored to know Jack Rickman He was a wonderful man and a second father to me. A true patriot and an American hero. Honesty and integrity were Jack's core values. He was brilliant and kind, and I am a better person for having known him. Thank you, Jack, for all you did for all of us that knew you. We have all lost with your passing. I love you Jack. God bless you. Rest in peace.

What a wonderful tribute to a great man. It's just horrifying that his children weren't notified. They were very loved by him. Rest in peace Jack...if you can. You raised strong kids. They'll come through this with time.

Dear Virginia. After reading Jack's orbituary and his impressive life, I thought that such a man deserved an amazing woman, and wife like you. Raymond and I will pray for you and his family. Our condolences to you and yours. Your YMCA aqua fitness student, Irene Chartrand. Your legend lives on in your former students. Xo. Love and hugs
