There is not much else that can be said about James. The man I knew was the man I have read about in this guest book. I remember the first time I met him he spoke to a "captive" audience in Windham, ME. I remember it so clearly and still use some of the euphemisms he shared with us that evening 19 years ago. I have since moved away and I have to tell you moving is no simple task. The twist of the mind when in unfamiliar territory is frightening but I was walking through a grocery store in SC when across the air came this familiar voice, an infomercial, and immediately my mind snapped back to right thinking. I laughed and laughed. Thank you James it was a pleasure and a GOD send to know you.

I am one of the people who has benefitted greatly from Dr. Lehman's Total Transformation Program and I was deeply saddened to learn of his death. He will be greatly missed, but has done an enormous amount of good. May he rest in peace.

Dear Janet,
I just learned of James's death and I am so sad. James was not only a valued friend and colleague from our days at Sweetser, he also helped our family at a very difficult time and made a huge difference in our son's life. I told him a few years back that he had truly saved our son's life. I send you healing thoughts and know that his memory will live on in the lives of so many people. Dale Stephenson

As a member of the Total Transformation, I have been reading James' email newsletter for the past couple of years. I was quite surprised to find out that he had passed away.
He will be missed, but his teachings are his legacy and will continue on in the lives of those who have been touched.
I pray for God's comfort to be with his family.

I was shocked and deeply saddened by the news of James Lehman's death. Our world truly has lost one of our best! I followed his teachings while raising my adopted daughter who was finally diagnosed with borderline personality disorder/bipolar disorder. My husband and I have struggled many years with raising her. She is better now and Mr. Lehman's teachings helped us get through many of the really tough times. We still exercise his teachings.
May God bless and comfort his family, friends, readers, students, clients, and all who mourn his death. May Mr. Lehman rest in peace!
My GREAT & WONDERFUL FRIEND~You are missed EVERYDAY!

I came into my personal recovery about 10yrs ago in Maine and James inspired me as he has done for so many. I am deeply saddened about the lost of this inspiring man. I know what James would say to me in this moment(S) "issues are like tissues you pull one out and another one pops up!"
Thank you James for all that you have done. I made a commit to carry a message to those in need and I plan on continuing that commit through your teachings and countless others.

I feel a sense of profound loss but joy knowing that this man left a legacy that will certainly live on through this great work. One measure of the depth of your work is when it's carried on after you're gone with the same passion as when you're alive.

Dear Janet and Jeremy,
I am so sorry for your loss of your husband and father... James was one of a small group of men who played a pivotal role helping to turn my life around during a very troubled time... he helped me out of the darkness and into the light. When I think of James I hear his gravelly and distinct voice - his accent definitely "not from around here" (in Maine) and his speaking candidly and informatively about his life in a most powerful and trans-formative way... a profound and effective power of example for me and many like me. thank you for sharing him with us. My sincere and profound condolences to you. Andy V.

Many of us who now work in the Sanford School System spent many hours together with James when he was first starting out as a clinician. Each of us have many stories about how his teaching impacted who we became as professionals and has greatly influenced our continued work with students and families.....James, you taught us all so many things. The image in my mind ( that will always remain) is your walking around campus wiht your white tank tops on during the hot days of Maine's summers, smiling, saying hi to kids and adults. You will be greatly missed.
Janet and Jeremy- our prayers are with you.
