James WORTHEN Obituary

WORTHEN, James F.

James F. Worthen, 67, of Jupiter, FL, died of natural causes on May 4, 2013 at West Palm Beach Hospice. Mr. Worthen was born in Atlanta, GA and spent the majority of his growing up years in Chatham Township, NJ. He graduated from Chatham High School in 1964 and joined the US Navy shortly afterward, receiving an honorable discharge four years later. He then lived in the Pittsburgh, PA area for a number of years before moving to southern Florida where he was employed for the past 27 years at Westside Reprographics in Riviera Beach. Many wonderful people, including his work companions at Westside, will miss Jim (aka "Jimbo") and remember him for his kindness, wry sense of humor, prodigious appetite, as well as his devotion to animals, particularly his first cat Sherman, his second cat Cleo, and Westy, the Westside mascot. His Friday night dinner companion, Art Loucks, will miss him greatly as will his good buddy Steve Wigal from Adventure Times Kayaks where Jim spent many happy hours. Jim leaves behind two uncles, Shaun Nestor of North Pole, AK and Bruce Nestor of Minneapolis, MN, his step-mother, Eva Worthen of Ocala, FL and his sister, Carol deProsse of Iowa City, IA who will always love him with all her heart. As it is said about the best among us, "they don't make a lot of them like that anymore." Mr. Worthen was cremated and his ashes will be spread in places he enjoyed visiting with his sister. Please send memorials to West Palm Beach Hospice or the Center for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife, PO Box 150, Sanibel Island, FL 33957.
