Joe Kern was one of the finest men I have known. I first met Joe around the 1960s when he was a member of the fabled "Jetty Conchs", expert fishermen who regularly fish the south jetty of Palm Beach Inlet for the illustrious snook. I then became to know him in other venues, as a fellow Palm Beach businessman and as a fellow traveler to the Bahama Islands.
Joe came from a prominent Delray Beach family, but one would never know that from Joe, as he modesty was one of his hallmarks, along with a gentle and very likable personality. He would meet a stranger who would depart a friend.
As Paul, the apostle, recommended "I have run the good race" Joe has raised the bar for each of us to aspire to. He made this world a better place for having passed through it.
"God speed, Joe, I will be seeing you soon"
Respectfully,
Clyde Seaton, Jr
